Review | GEO Berry Holic Aqua lenses

Hi everyone! ^__^

I'm not going to bother apologising for my lack of blogging, because I realise that it's how I start almost every single post. And if you follow my blog (all 30 of you) then you already know that I'm as unreliable as they come. Quit yo' belly aching! I'm a busy lady (sorta).

Anyway, I ordered my first pair of lenses from Pinky Paradise, the Berry Holic Aqua lenses.

Unfortunately, one of the lenses was damaged in such a way that I couldn't have known before opening the vial. The left lens (I think it's the left, although they're pretty interchangeable) had a TINY scratch near the inner coloured section. Barely noticeable, but in my eye it felt like knives.

 I can't even express how wonderful Pinky Paradise's customer service team are. 

I wrote an email, received a form asking for details of the fault, and within 48 hours they had assured me that they will send a replacement for the faulty lens. 

Which is an incredible turn around.

So I have some pictures already of how they look in my eyeballs.

I like these lenses a lot cause they're pretty natural.

They just enhance/enlarge my natural eyes, which is what I look for in an everyday lens.

The enlargement is impressive for lenses that are only 14.2mm in diameter.

Hmm. I guess I'll add more things when I get the other lens, but that's all I have to say for now.

Review | Beuberry Natural Grey Lens

 Hi again everyone! 

I guess I got excited about these lenses, last night's fiasco (R.I.P. left puffy green lens) :'(

But this morning I put my Beuberry Natural Grey lenses in, and I am really impressed.

This is my first time trying Beuberry lenses. I got them in my package from Uniqso.

I think they are almost identical to the GEO Xtra Grey, but maybe slightly less dramatic. 

I'm definitely going to put these back into their lens case A LOT more carefully than I did with my Barbie Puffy 3 tone greens. I'm still very upset with myself for wrecking them. 

But these lenses have got me all excited because they are excellent as well!

 They are INCREDIBLY comfortable. The most comfortable big lenses I've worn so far. 

Despite being 16mm in diameter, I've been wearing the lenses for 8 hours already and am experiencing almost no discomfort (that said, I should probably take them out soon).

If I had one complaint about these lenses, it's that they're TOO comfortable

I keep forgetting I'm wearing them!  ; )

Honestly though, I can't fault these lenses on anything. 

The design is perfect for my grey-blue eyes and they are quite natural looking whilst still being really enlarging. I definitely recommend these lenses to anyone wanting to give some larger lenses a try! Especially if you're prone to dry eyes, because these are a very comfortable 16mm lens.

They're great for those with lighter coloured eyes. It seems like these were almost designed with lighter coloured eyes in mind. Which is nice, as it seems like most are designed especially for darker eye colours (that makes sense of course, since they're made in Asia).

I love love looove these lenses!

Above is a comparison between the GEO Xtra WTA55, and the Beuberry Natural Grey.
In terms of aesthetics, the difference between these lenses is barely noticeable.
I think that the GEO Xtra look an itty bitty bit bigger, and in terms of design, GEO use lines going inward from the limbal ring, whereas Beuberry use a ring of fading pixels.
Both blend well with my natural eyes, but I do think that the Beuberry's are less dramatic.

Review | Barbie Puffy 3 Tone Green Lens

Hi again.

So this is an initial review with a longer review coming later because I'm a big dummy.

This afternoon I got home and was excited to try on my new lenses - especially the Barbie Puffy 3 tones.

 And I love them.

I'm sad though. Because I love them so much. But I ruined them as soon as I took them out!! 

The left lens got caught in the lid of the lens case and I didn't notice, so I started screwing the lid on. 

And I shredded it! I'm really bummed. 

I didn't even get a good full face photo with them in!

Anyway, I think you can buy a single lens from Uniqso. 

So at least I can replace the lens that I destroyed instead of buying another set  

I'm definitely going to be more careful from now on. 

What do you think of these lenses?

I really love the colour and how enlarging they are.

The design works really well with my natural eye colour.

But I couldn't find out how comfortable they were/how long I could wear them without getting dry eyes. 

Because I didn't get to wear them for very long. AH I'm still so upset. T_T

I'll update this post once I've received my replacement lens.

Upcoming Lens Reviews

Hi everyone!

I just picked up my latest purchase from Uniqso!

And as always, I'm really excited to try all my new lenses. The reviews will be posted over the next couple of weeks.

I have them soaking in solution at the moment... I wish I didn't have to wait!! >_<

It came with these which each contain a pair of rubber tipped tweezers, lens case, mirror, and a lens remover. I've never used a lens remover before, and to be honest I think it might be harder to use the stick than my fingers. But I'll give it a try anyway. For science! ;P

Review | GEO Xtra WTA55 Grey Lens

Hi everybody!

I've already shared a couple of images of me wearing these lenses in previous posts, 

but felt I should give a proper review and provide some comparison pictures!

It's been a while since I've reviewed any lenses, but I will have some new ones coming soon as well!

I bought these lenses from Uniqso, who are currently celebrating their 2nd anniversary!
I prefer to buy from Uniqso because they provide excellent advice and customer service.

I love every single song and the packaging is so cute. Korea really know how to package their music.

GEO Xtra Review

Colour & Design
The colour and design of these is wonderful. Great for those with grey or light blue eyes. I think they would work really well with hazel or green eyes as well.


Enlargement
The enlargement of these is great! The colour on the edges blends into the grey colouring of the lens a bit so there isn't too harsh an edge (such as on the Candy Eye grey lenses). This provides extra enlargement without looking too crazy alien.


Comfort
Today I wore these lenses from 9am - 3pm. That's around 7 hours, which is when they started to feel a bit dry. I probably could have applied eye drops and worn them for longer though. So these are relatively comfortable. Especially given their larger diameter. These are as comfortable, or possibly more comfortable than the EOS puffy 3 tone grey lenses, which are only 14.5mm. So that's pretty excellent.

The verdict

These lenses are a good balance of natural and dramatic. The colour compliments my natural eye colour and blends well. The darker limbal ring creates quite a lot of enlargement, but detracts from the naturalness of the lenses. They definitely give your eyes a dolly like look, without making you look too alien.

These lenses are my new favourite grey pair. Granted, I haven't tried THAT many but these are the biggest and most comfortable I've tried. I really like them and they've re-sparked my love of lenses.

These lenses get a 10/10!

Review | EOS Ice Blue Lens



Dorky smile! My cat scratched the tip of my nose!

Hello again! I have some new lenses to show you:
my new EOS Ice blue lenses from MapleLens.com.

These feel like the biggest lenses I've worn, and I was surprised when I double-checked the diameter. Even though the EOS Ice series are 14.8mm in diameter, they feel the same size as my i.Fairy Keizen blue lenses (which were 16.2mm!)

I really like the design of these lenses. They've got a nice pattern on the outside that looks more natural than a thick or dark limbal ring. They're a pretty blue, but are much more vibrant than they look in the stock photo on the website.

Because the lenses are so much bigger than the iris, some of the white of the eye is visible; this gets called the halo effect. It becomes particularly obvious when you are looking sideways or up. These are the first lenses I've worn where I've really noticed the halo effect.

As the i.Fairy Keizen lenses were my first blue lenses, I couldn't help but compare this pair to them. Basically, I think these ones are a thousand times better! I'm glad that I bought these, because the Keizen lenses made me worry that blue lenses would never suit my natural eye colour.

But these lenses certainly blend nicely with my natural colour, and there isn't a noticeable line around my natural eye colour. I think this is because the colour on the Ice Blue lens extends closer to the pupil than on the Keizen Blue.

Another thing better about the Ice Blue lens is that, unlike the Keizen Blue, there is no pixelation when you look at my eyes close up. The colour is smooth and uniform. Both lenses have lots of enlargement and look quite dolly (I don't really like that term but it is kind of the only one that works. You literally get big doll eyes!)

As I said before, the colour is very vibrant on the Ice Blue lens. The Keizen blue was a darker, more natural looking blue, whereas these are electric blue! I think that this same design in a more natural shade of blue would be really beautiful.



The only place that these lenses fall behind is in comfort. Whilst they were really easy to put in, they don't feel all that comfortable on your eye. Occassionally, the lens will shift slightly on my eyeball when I blink and you can feel this movement. I've looked in the mirror and you can't SEE the lens shifting, but it feels odd having it move around a lot. Also, I have only worn them for 5 hours at a time because any longer than that and my eyes begin to feel very tired and dry. However if you're happy to use a lot of eye drops and don't mind some slight shifting, you could probably wear these all day.

So, the verdict?

Design:            10/10
Enlargement:   10/10
Comfort:            6/10

Overall:  26/30
I've been doing my overall scores out of 10 in the

past but I'm listing them out of 30 from now on.

Review | EOS Fay 3 Tone Brown Lens

Wow it's been a while. After my exams, I disappeared to Europe, and then as soon as I got back, it was Christmas! I've been crazy busy, but now that I'm back to the usual routine (and bored as ever), I might as well share some things! When I got back to the office, all of the purchases I made before I went overseas were waiting for me on my desk! Yumetenbo purchases, and circle lenses.

I have always wanted to know what I would look like with brown eyes. And whilst contacts allow me to have whatever eye colour I want, I've been weary of brown lenses in the past and have never bought a pair; assuming that they're all designed for darker eyes, that they wouldn't cover my natural blue eyes, and that they wouldn't blend. But I finally bought some. And I'm super happy with the results!

The EOS Fay 3-tone brown lenses are amazing. I got these lenses from MapleLens (along with another pair that I'll share later). They came in a cute little box. I love the boxes that lenses come packed in. They're always so cute.

Depending on the light, you can see a little bit of natural eye colour near my pupil, but I think it blends surprisingly well. My mum was definitely shocked to see me with brown eyes! :P

New year, new hair colour! Feeling left out from the crazy hair colour craze, I dyed my hair a reddy brown. I am fairly certain that bleach would destroy my hair so I'll have to do without candy coloured strands until I decide I want to chop it all off (I can't see that happening.. I want it to grow but it won't!)

Comfort: These lenses are really comfortable. I wore them for 8 hours and whilst they were starting to feel a little bit dry, it wasn't bad at all. I also find them really easy to put in (but maybe I'm just getting better at that in general :P).

Design: Really simple design. Whilst they are three tone, they look a uniform colour against my eye. I think that the subtle tones help the brown blend better near my pupil which is great. These lenses are lovely and natural.

Enlargement: These are 14.5mm lenses. There is some enlargement but it is natural and doesn't make you look like a doll. I wouldn't want them any bigger or smaller.

Overall: 10/10

I love these lenses. I think they look quite nice with my new hair colour as well. I really can't think of anything about the lenses that I wish was different so they have to get 10 out of 10. :)

I applied for a diploma of language studies yesterday. I really hope I get in. Just applying has motivated me to practice korean more. Ah well, only time will tell.

Review | Gloss 3-tone green lens

I just opened a new packet of contact lenses from Gloss Accessories in Sydney.
I bought these at the same time as the grey ones I reviewed ages ago, but they've been sitting in my drawer up until the other day. I actually really like these ones.
They are the 3-tone green lenses.

The lens on the right is actually inside out which is why it looks to be a different colour. It's possible to put them on whilst they're inside out and your eye will probably feel weird (it does for me) so best to check that the lighter side of the coloured lens is the part you're putting onto your eye. 

The colour difference is less obvious with some lenses so you can also tell by how it looks when you squeeze it between your fingers. Basically though if it feels weird on your eye, something probably isn't right and you should take it out.

The lenses from Gloss are more flexible than the ones I get directly from Korea so I actually find them harder to put in (they invert really easily). Gloss contacts only last 3 months and cost double that of the contacts I buy from Korea which last a year. Judging on how closely the Gloss grey contacts resembled the Puffy 3-tone grey contacts, I'm guessing that these would be similar to the Puffy 3-tone greens but with a larger diameter.

I really like these lenses. The colour change is pretty significant (although these photos don't show it so well) and they're more enlarging than my grey pair from Gloss.

Review | I.Fairy Keizen Blue lens

Hello everyone!
 I received these today from UNIQSO.

So these lenses are huge! 16.5mm I think, which is the largest lens I've tried so far... It was a bit harder to put in than smaller lenses. 

Here are some pictures.

I'm bare faced and just woken up so please excuse the messy hair. :P

but you can see the bad blending close-up  (and its even more obvious with the instagram filter)

I noticed that these lenses don't blend very well with my natural eye colour. This is a bit of a bummer because these lenses are a lovely colour.

Colour/Design: 7/10

The colour of these lenses is really nice but it doesn't blend very well with my eyes.
Also viewed close-up, the pixelated design of the lens makes them very obvious and... well it looks a bit odd. From far away these lenses look lovely and you can't tell that they do not blend (it just makes your eyes look multicoloured). I like that they don't have a big dark limbal ring design, and that the colour goes all the way to the edge of the lens.

Comfort: 8/10

These lenses are not as comfortable as others that I have reviewed, which is most likely because they're much bigger. There was a lot of discomfort when I first put them in but as my eyes adjusted, I mostly forgot they were in there. They began to feel dry after a while (5 hours) so I took them out.

Enlargement: 10/10

These seriously make your eyes look huge. Gigantic. 

Overall: 8/10

I like these lenses. But I can't see myself wearing them to work or anything because they do not blend and therefore look quite unnatural. Hopefully I get a chance to wear them to a party sometime soon.

Review | EOS Puffy 3 Tone Grey Lens

Hi everyone!
I ordered the EOS Puffy 3 Tone Grey lenses from UNIQSO. The website was great and the shipping was really fast! They came in an adorable little box with a standard lenses case. I like that the lens case is clear so I can see which lenses are in there.

GLOSS cosmetics contact lenses!

Anyone from Australia wanting to try out cosmetic lenses to see if it's their kind of fashion accessory should check out GLOSS, who have stores all around Sydney! I recently bought 2 pairs from them so I though I'd share some pictures and opinions.

I was really excited to find a store that sells contact lenses in Sydney! At first I was a little bit worried because although these lenses are from Korea, the shop assistant couldn't tell me what brand they were (EOS or GEO). Might just be that I'm overly cautious, but I'm putting these things in my eyes so I kinda wanna know if they're going to make me blind or something! I bought a couple of pairs after a while because I got too excited about wearing them out later that week and forgot about all my concerns. Oops.

It cost me $34 for 2 pairs. I got tri-tone lenses in grey and green, as I wanted them to blend into my natural colour and they did so perfectly. A little too perfectly maybe...

Not a huge difference.

 Above are the grey lenses in my right eye and my natural eye on the left. Not much of a difference at all! They make my eyes look less blue-green and more hazel I suppose.. But the colour change is barely noticeable.

There is a little bit of enlargement which is good. I was expecting them to be more enlarging as the package states the diameter as 14.2mm. I was disappointed when I looked closer at the lens and saw that there is a clear ring on the outside (about 0.2mm wide). But as you can see, they make my limbal ring more pronounced providing some natural enlargement.

  I guess what I wanted was natural enlargement and these do that.. But not to the extent I wanted. These would be absolutely perfect if they were the exact same design and colour, but 14.5mm.
My search for the perfect natural enlarging lenses continues.

These are still good lenses. As a rookie to the contact lenses thing, it is great to have practice inserting and removing lenses, as well as becoming accustomed to the way they feel in your eyes. I am looking forward to seeing how the green tri-tones look.

Colour/Design: 7/10
I've already talked about this above, but basically it is a lovely natural lens that blends perfectly into light eyes. There is a natural limbal ring design on the outer rim is lovely.

Comfort: 9/10
I wore these for around 8 hours before my eyes began to feel tired and I took them out. I'm sure if I used some rewetting drops I could have worn them for longer but it isn't advised to wear them for too long. Anyway these were very comfortable lenses. There was occasional blurring caused by the lens moving, but not very often.

Enlargement: 6/10
I feel a little bit lied to with the whole 14.2mm diameter thing when they're really only 14mm. But there is some natural enlargement from the darker limbal ring.

Overall: 8/10
I forgot to mention above that these are NOT yearly lenses. Most GEO and EOS lenses last for a year which makes their prices extremely reasonable. These are 90 day lenses which is okay I suppose but if I can get yearly lenses from the internet for the same price... well I can wait a couple of weeks and be happy.

These lenses are still quite nice and overall I'm happy with these GLOSS brand lenses.
I recently ordered EOS Puffy 3tones in grey which I'm hoping will be enlarging but natural. Will be sure to review them for you.

Hello + EOS Candy Eye Grey review!

I'm Bec and this is my first post of my first ever blog and I've decided to talk about something I recently discovered (a small new obsession of mine). That is: circle lenses!!!

Circle lenses are contact lenses that are usually bigger than your natural iris and so they have an enlarging effect. They come in many different colours and sizes. Some have dark circles on the outer edge (to imitate the natural limbal ring of the eye), making your eyes look HUGE! Some people like natural looking lenses whilst other people go for that dramatic look that will turn heads.



Hello everyone! Me being a dork.

  As circle lenses are mostly worn by people with dark eyes (they're originally from South Korea and popular in Japan), it's pretty hard finding reviews of circle lenses by people with light eyes. So I'm going to try and give my opinion on every pair I buy for light eyed people interested in trying circle lenses :)

NOTE: There are definitely risks involved with cosmetic contact lenses!!! In Australia and many other countires you can purchase them off the internet easily without a prescription, however please make sure you read about them first! How to open the lens bottles, how to take care of them properly, how to clean them, and the importance of inserting them before you apply makeup and checking the lens for particles or damage before putting them in your eye. A tiny tear in a lens can cause scratches on your eye and cause permanent damage. So always take care! This blog has a great guide on how to care for lenses.

EOS Candy Eye Grey (ignore my huge nose please)

 I bought these from speciallens.com. They have tons of circle lenses and you can select prescriptions for each lens if you normally wear glasses! They were really helpful with all the questions I had so check out their site (link is above). These were the very first pair of contact lenses I've ever worn, so it was a bit tricky getting them in at first.  I think these would be best to wear out at night with simple makeup (some black eyeliner and lots of mascara).



Comparison.

 Colour/Design: 6/10
These make my eyes look very unnatural. The grey blended in well with my natural blue-grey eyes and the colour change was minimal. But the thick black outter ring looks very unnatural on light eyes. I know what to look for in my next pair though, and I still think these are great for a dramatic look.

Comfort: Because I don't have anything to compare them to, it's hard to say how comfortable they are. However I wore them for 6 hours without my eyes drying out. I sometimes forgot that they were there! Occasionally the lens would shift and I would have blurred vision, however closing and rubbing my eyelid repositioned the lens easily.

Enlargement: 10/10
My eyes look SO BIG! Even though they are only 14.5mm in diameter the black ring really enlarges your eye. My sister freaked out when she saw me wearing these. "Your eyes are enormous!!" Hehehe. So in terms of enlargement they get a perfect 10!

Overall: 7/10
These might not have been the best first pair for me to try, but they're still very fun lenses with a very dramatic effect. I feel like they would look better on those with darker eyes, but as long as you don't mind an unnatural looking limbal ring, these lenses are great.
